My name is Catherine Shimmons. I started editing videos at age 14, inspired by filmmakers and creators like Sam Kolder, Jay Alvarrez, and Rory Kramer. What began as an interest in editing grew into a passion for filmmaking and visual storytelling, leading me to develop skills across the full creative process.
I can take a project from pre-production through to final delivery, with a professional approach to ingesting footage, editing, composition, sound design and colour grading. I have a natural sense of rhythm which I bring to every edit, combining technical precision with my own creative perspective. I also have a background in design which naturally led to a strong interest and skill set in motion design.
I take client feedback seriously and always aim to deliver the best product possible. For me, making videos is about more than creating something that looks good. I want to make meaningful work that leaves a lasting impression, rather than something to simply scroll past.
